Do ya’ll remember the song “Stand Beside Me” by Jo Dee Messina. This is one of my favorite country songs, but it wasn’t until recently that I began to understand the meaning behind the lyrics: “I want a man that stands beside me, not in front of or behind me…. I’m not looking for a fantasy, but a man that stands beside me.”

Marriage is a lot of standing beside each other. Or you can think of it as walking together. Whether it is walking together in your choices, walking together with Christ, walking together into your future,  it is important that you walk together and support one another along the way. One of the greatest gifts of a marriage is having someone there to hold your hand in the good times and bad, but also have someone to guide you and support you through life. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate” Matthew 19:6

I know life will take Anthony and I through many experiences, some new and exciting, and some challenging and long, but it is wonderful to know that I have him walking beside me. From our first walk as a married couple to all the walks to come, I love that I can share life with my best friend and husband.
